After bringing a date to the Oscars for the first time, Sarah Larson, Clooney hooked up with another woman who likes to watch him work, Italian actress and TV hostess Elisabetta Canalis. Canalis visited Clooney on set (just in time to nix rumors of a split), and accompanied him to the Venice International Film Festival for their first public appearance as a couple. And though Canalis was given the thumbs up by Clooney's pal Matt Damon, Clooney (jokingly) lamented, "She's homely. But what can you do?"
